This lovely property is situated on the lakeside at Lake Tarawera, a tranquil and serene location, just 20 minutes drive away from Rotorua.
Overlooking a natural lagoon, the house has a very private garden leading down to a jetty from where guests can swim or use the property's row boat.
On the spot activities include fly fishing or a garden bush walk. There are many scenic nature tracks around the lake, including a 10 minute walk to the Cliff Road Reserve to view the magnificent Mt Tarawera.
The volcano at Mt Tarawera exploded dramatically in 1886, burying many surrounding villages and destroying the then world famous Pink and White Terraces. This is an area rich in Maori heritage with much to see and do, including Rotorua itself, famous as a centre of geothermal attractions and Maori culture. The area offers forests with exotic trees, freshwater springs with rainbow and brown trout and a variety of native birds and other wildlife. Alternatively, guests can spend time relaxing in the garden and enjoying the serenity and stunning lake environment.
The accommodation is spacious and comfortable and the rooms feature New Zealand contemporary art and sculpture.
Amenities include satellite TV, DVD player and stereo system. There is a telephone, fax and laptop computer with internet access. The network is also available for those bringing their own computers. There is a gourmet kitchen and breakfast provisions are provided complimentary for each day. The apartment comes with a range of optional services, including an in-house selection of New Zealand wines.
