The small, sleepy hamlet of Haliotata sits on a hillside four kilometres away from the port of Sami, half way up Cephalonia’s east coast. This villa is at the highest point of the hamlet and has total privacy and magnificent views down the valley of olive groves and pine trees to the houses of Sami and across the sea to the island of Ithaca.
Built on one level, the villa opens out on to a covered terrace facing the sea and pool terraces, which incorporate a shaded dining and barbecue area. This is a comfortably furnished, modern villa in a private and undisturbed setting.
The port of Sami, with its attractive waterfront of tavernas, café bars and varied shops, is a drive of ten minutes and Agia Efimia is a drive of twenty minutes. Between these two ports there are many beaches. Just south of Sami is the beautiful Antisamos beach, used as a setting in the film “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin”. The Drogerati Caves are just two kilometres away and the submerged lake of Melissani at Karovomilos village is a further five minutes drive. Regular ferries from Sami to Ithaca allow for convenient day trips – but without the car so Ithaca taxis would have to be used.
