The coastline below Eolos, just one kilometre away, is scooped out by sparkling bays such as Kalami and Kouloura, and the view is sublime. Not far from the villa lies the unspoiled hamlet of Vigla and this upland region has changed very little since the far-off days when Lawrence Durrell loved to walk here.
Built into the hillside so that it cannot be overlooked, the villa is airy and light, a subtle blend of contemporary and traditional design, defined by the imposing turret that takes its inspiration from the architecture of Ancient Greece and Byzantium. Most of the ground floor is devoted to an open-plan living area and kitchen, opening on to a covered area suitable for outdoor meals. The top floor of the villa is exclusive to the master bedroom and has a private terrace.
