A grand stairway sweeps up to the impressive front door of the Villa, the pastel green façade with wrought iron railings blending beautifully with the dense forestry surrounding it. The pool terrace’s delightful crazy paving and unusually shaped pool are set against magnificent views of the Ionian Sea. Rose bushes, orange, cumquat and olive trees enliven the outlook with a splash of colour whilst a barbecue to the side promises al fresco feasts.
Orientating oneself on arrival is easy; a simple path to the right leads down to Avlaki beach (700m) where two tavernas vie for custom, to the left Kassiopi (2km) is a bustling village with a quiet harbour, perfect for families or large groups, offering a good selection of restaurants, coffee bars and shops. The nearest supermarket is just 1.5km away.
Unwinding at the Villa is straightforward. The peace and quiet enjoyed by its secluded location and the stunning vistas that enchant from every window and balcony provide a wonderful sensation of space and freedom.
The huge living/dining/kitchen area has been finished to the highest of standards, the glossy wooden floors and cross beamed ceilings fashioning a classic setting with harmonising hues of pinks and browns. The large French windows frame the sea, the Albanian mountains and the verdant hillsides. Outside, the terracotta floor tiles and ceramic tiled roof of the main balcony make it a sanctuary in the heat of the day offering shade to enjoy the panoramas. The well appointed kitchen is cleverly thought out and the dining area continues the theme with traditional, elegant décor and a pretty dresser. Two ground floor twin bedrooms lead off the hallway, and a pale blue double bedroom opens onto a private balcony. Upstairs a twin bedroom has a separate living area where shutters open onto a small balcony.
The fine shingle beach of Avlaki is set around a beautiful bay that has a natural curve fringed by woodland, and a couple of jetties at either end invite hours of splashing around for the youngsters, whilst at the other end a small dinghy sailing and windsurfing school can provide entertainment, whether merely enjoying the display or taking part. Nearby Aghios Stefanos (3km) is another alternative, slightly larger with a few more restaurants, whilst the whole north east coastline begs to be explored by boat; Kaminaki, Kerasia, and Kalami just three of the enchanting coves nearby.
