Set on the hillside of Settignano (Italy) with extraordinary views of Florence and the surrounding Arno valley, Villa is renowned for its splendid gardens, celebrated throughout the world by leading landscape architects and garden historians.
Completed in the early seventeenth century by the Florentine noble Zanobi Lapi in Tuscan style, the Villa combines interesting architectural features of both an urban palazzo and a suburban villa.
Four houses on the property have been carefully restored and converted into comfortable guest houses, furnished with family antiques but also equipped with modern appliances and conveniences. There are the apartments Cappella and Nettuno (along the garden avenue), the first belonging originally to the 17th century chapel, and the second is named after the so-called Neptune statue in the nymphaeum; the Limonaia is an historic 15th century farmhouse, which belonged to the family of the Florentine sculptor and architect Bernardo Rossellino. Eremita is a small and nice apartment, into the grove near the grotto garden.
