The Chateau benefits from a harmonious and romantic atmosphere. The warmth of the chateau is created by its numerous wood panels, mouldings and light that streams through the large windows on each side of the property. All the reception rooms have windows at the front and back creating stunning, sun drenched rooms.
The interior of the Chateau combines the elegance of the French C17th and 18th Centuries (furniture, master paintings & aubusson carpets), and today's modern comforts (internet, wifi, satellite TV & a jacuzzi hot tub in some of the bathrooms).
Interior and grounds
The chateau has 6 bedrooms, including two masters suites with a sleeping capacity of 10 people. The Estate includes the castle and an outside cottage with a further 2 bedrooms. Therefore the total capacity is 14 people.
On the first floor, on one side the landing opens to a vast drawing room decorated with Louis XIV wood panelling and a magnificent fireplace and another drawing room with Louis XII wood panelling and a view of the moat. The other side of the landing opens onto the main Louis XIII dining rooms. A secret door will bring you to the breakfast room and another to a double bedroom (régence) with its own bathroom.
On the second floor, are the 5 other bedrooms. There are 2 suites with private bathroom and WC, 1 double bedroom with private bathroom and 2 single rooms with cabinet de toilettes.
In the elevated basement are two very large rooms, a huge kitchen with fireplace and a modern TV/games room with wall to wall carpeting.
There are several gardens on the estate: a traditional "jardin à la française" as well as an old vegetable garden converted now into a rose garden with its old XVII century pigeon house with more than 1000 pigeon holes.
In the garden there is an open air heated swimming pool (heated from May until September) and a synthetic grass tennis court. Carp fishing is also possible.
Next to the castle are the staff quarters and the stables, in one of them, bicycles are available including 2 for children. In the stables, you can play ping-pong and lots of other outdoor games including “pétanque”.
A play ground with swings and trapeze is located in the old vegetable garden which is great entertainment for the children.
