The Chateau was built a millennium ago and as such is a rare example of history with all its idiosyncrasies yet with comfortable and modern furnishings. The Chateau is both tastefully and authentically decorated.
The Chateau actually overlooks the River Loire, which makes the views from the terrace simply magical. There are many magnificent mature trees within the lush grounds & parkland. 8 guests can be accommodated in the 4 luxurious bedrooms and generous reception rooms. The chateau is in close proximity to the local village and not far from the grand city of Orleans.
Interior and grounds
On the ground floor one enters into a large hall that leads to a sizeable salon complete with a period fireplace. Next to this is the library and grand piano. The dining room is adjacent to the salon (with TV) that looks out across the gardens and the river. The kitchen has all the necessary modern appliances and there is a downstairs bathroom with WC. On the first floor there are 4 double bedrooms, a bathroom, a shower room, a sauna and WC.
The gardens benefit from an abundance of mature trees. The landscaped lawns complete a magnificent exterior overlooking the River Loire. The setting is most tranquil. The manor has WIFI internet connection for all guests.
Location and local information
The nearby village of Saint Ay (0.5km) has many good restaurants and a selection of shops. The city of Orleans (15km) is a short drive away giving you access to its history and amenities. You are also very close to the famous grand chateaux of the Loire Valley.
There are many recreational activities available in the region, including fishing in the garden. Also on offer is canoeing, kayaking, hot air ballooning, golf and plenty others activities. Tours airport is 80km away.
