This house, converted from a 17th century post house and recently restored, offers an ideal spot for relaxing thanks to its stunning panoramic location, its beautiful private swimming pool and its proximity to the centre of Cortona, one of the most ancient and noble Tuscan towns which served as the perfect backdrop for the movies Under the Tuscan Sun and Life is Beautiful.
The beautiful stone building has retained notable 16th century trimmings. Restoration work was completed in June 2007 and the furnishings were picked amongst family antique pieces.
•Main House - Ground Floor
The interiors retain authentic Tuscan design elements such as brick archways, terracotta-tiled floors, wood-beamed ceilings, exposed stonework and whitewashed walls.
From the hallway access the fully fitted kitchen with French doors opening onto the garden while opposite you find a spacious high-ceilinged lounge with fireplace and French doors leading out to the front lawns. A guest bathroom completes this floor.
A stone staircase leads to an external tiled terrace opening to the back of the villa. A few steps take to a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
On the first floor there is another large lounge with fireplace. Leading off this upstairs dayroom are two bedrooms that share a large bathroom with bath. There is a further double bedroom with a balcony. It faces the front garden and has an en-suite bathroom with shower.
Right next to the main house, French doors open into the living/dining room with original stone fireplace and a dining table seating up to 6. Off this large room is a fully equipped kitchen. The other side of the living room leads to two double bedrooms both en-suite.
