As the road climbs out of the quintessentially Provençal town of Grasse, the views afforded over the surrounding hills towards the coast grow more beautiful with every turn. On arrival at Mediterranée, the electric gates slide open to reveal a private haven of serenity where flowers, shrubs and palms add a fragrant note. From the large front terrace, the panorama continues over the lush green hillsides and down towards the bay of Cannes.
Neutral, pale-grey walls throughout the interior provide a soft, contemporary feel with cool terracotta floor tiles adding a regional twist for a fresh and inviting ambience. In the living area, ornate lamps and light fittings blend with colourful paintings and period furniture, further enhancing the elegant décor to be found at this property. The theme continues throughout the bedrooms where the spectacular views can be further appreciated from the balconies on the first floor.
Like many Provençal properties, the emphasis is on outdoor living, and time spent on the ample dining terrace will form a large part of your enjoyment of this house. Partially covered, the terrace extends the full length of the front of the property and leads down to the pool and gardens.
Grasse (4km) is famed throughout the world for its perfume production, and a visit to one of the associated museums is highly recommended. Visitors in early August will also appreciate the annual ‘Jasminade’ festival, held in honour of the flower of the same name. Large supermarkets and a variety of shops, bars and restaurants can also be found here, however, the nearest restaurant is just 10 minutes’ walk from the house. Other big names of the Côte d’Azur are also within easy reach including Cannes (20km), Antibes (23km) and Nice (32km).
Please note: The road to access Mediterranee is very steep and narrow.
