Corfu’s south west coastline of small sandy beaches frames a peaceful and agricultural landscape of olive groves, citrus orchards and vineyards, beneath the mountain village and monastery of Agios Mattheos.
The seaside village of Paramonas has around 30 residents, one small hotel, two tavernas, a bakery and a minimarket. This is one of just a few villas on the village outskirts and offers an escape from the crowds.
The villa's sea facing terraces, for both sun and shade, provide theatrical settings for west coast sunsets over a plateau of olive and pine trees.
Paramonas beach, with more sand than pebble, is just over half a kilometre away. Two tavernas lie close to the beach. There are no water sports here and nothing to amuse the younger crowd but if peaceful seclusion becomes monotonous, the resorts of Messonghi (on the east coast) and Agios Gordis (on the west) are a 15 minute drive away.
