This charming traditional stone built house is situated in the heart of the village of Deia which is on the north west coast of Mallorca.
Deia offers a fine selection of restaurants, cafés, and galleries for the discerning tourist and has worked hard to retain its Mallorcan charm and character, making it one of the most desirable destinations on the island.
With its central location, this property offers ease of access to all the local amenities, yet benefits from privacy as it is situated on a narrow cul-de-sac leading up from the popular La Residencia hotel. A 3km path leads down to Cala Deia, the shingle covered beach which also boasts a couple of delightful café spots for lunch, one built into the imposing cliffs. The walk down affords spectacular views of the Mediterranean and surrounding countryside, however the walk up can be a little strenuous.
The property is owned by an award winning British Architect and is beautifully appointed with many personal touches, and original artwork providing a house full of character.
From the car parking area in front of the house, which provides space for two vehicles, the wisteria covered terraces welcome visitors to the property. These are perfect for a breakfast or an early evening cocktail with beautiful views of the village. A private pool sits adjacent to the lawn and garden which features palm, olive, fruit and cypress trees, bougainvillea and other Mediterranean climbers. A shower is connected with the pool area too. The garden and pool area are very private and offer a lovely spot for a shady lunch beneath the pergola.
There are also a number of small terraces around the house offering privacy for guests. A large exterior table offers dining for 8 and there is a stainless steel built-in barbecue for al fresco suppers. The front terrace also offers a third dining area seating 8 around a Moroccan tiled table. There is also a private terrace adjoining the Southwest wing.
