Description

This 18th century Mas, with 360 degree views, is situated on the southern side of the Luberon Mountains, 2 kilometres from the pretty village of Cucuron and 3 kilometres from beautiful Ansouis with its impressive ‘château’, part of which dates back to the 13th century. A huge attraction for this house is its proximity to Cucuron, one of the loveliest Luberon villages, also boasting no less than ten restaurants. Cookery courses, art classes, local wine tasting and meal delivery services are also available. Tuesday is market day in Cucuron.

This villa is peacefully set in 4 hectares of land surrounded by 660 olive trees, cypress trees, lavender, oleander, rose and rosemary bushes. The large garden has lawns and a curved driveway which leads to the rear of the house where there is a shaded parking area for 4 cars. There is an L-shaped, solar heated swimming pool (4m x 9m) with a shallow ‘plage’, ideal for young children, an alarm, an electric cover and nearby solar shower. 12 sun beds and pool towels are provided. Behind the pool area is a traditional ‘bassin’ with a fountain (large pond with stone slab surround) 4 x 6 metres. The garden surrounding the house has a fence and electric gates. Within the garden is a herb garden. There is also a gas BBQ.

Being south facing, the property is light and bright with large glass doors leading to shaded outside eating areas on three sides of the house. A number of the bedrooms also have outside access directly to the garden as do the kitchen, living and dining rooms. The owners of this villa have equipped the house with families in mind. They have added all the modern facilities necessary for comfortable and easy summer living. All the double beds are two beds pushed together, so can be made up as doubles or twins on request.

For the active there are tennis racquets, 12 bikes, boules, croquet, a games room, pool table, table tennis, darts, pool toys and volley ball nets. For those wanting to simply relax there are many shaded corners to retreat to with a good book.

Perfect for a large family, or several families holidaying together, the house is tastefully furnished in Provençal style offers all year round comfort thanks to its underfloor heating and large open fireplace.
There is a home cinema, freesat HD and wi-fi internet connection.

Ground Floor (split level)
Large open-plan living room with fireplace, stereo/CD player, I-Pod dock, and adjoining dining room, both opening to the dining patio at the front of the house. Well equipped kitchen with 2 dishwashers, American fridge, 2 ovens, gas hob, indoor BBQ grid, microwave, dining table and chairs and doors leading to two outside dining areas. The kitchen has air-conditioning.

From the kitchen 2 steps lead down to a double bedroom with king size bed, an en-suite bathroom with shower, washbasin and WC) and outside access to side patio and dining area. Hamman (steam room) which doubles as a shower. Up 4 stairs to TV room with large flat screen, DVD player and surround sound. This room leads to a dayroom (sitting area) which has large glass doors leading to the pool area. There is an electric shade canopy in front of this room. Adjoining the dayroom is a double bedroom (king-size bed) overlooking the pool area, which has an en-suite shower room (shower, WC and basin). Entrance hall with cloakroom and WC. Steps from the entrance hall lead downstairs to a basement area with 2 washing machines.
The house has a central vacuum cleaning system. Safe.

First Floor
Split-level master bedroom (king-size bed) with roof terrace with views north to the Luberon, Romeo & Juliet balcony looking south, sofa bed, spiral stairs to a small gallery, and en-suite bathroom (bath, walk-in shower, WC and basin).
Small bedroom with twin beds and en-suite shower room (shower, WC and basin). This shower room can also be accessed from the corridor. Twin bedroom. Double bedroom (standard double bed) with outside access via stone staircase to front of house. These two bedrooms share a large bathroom with Jacuzzi bath, WC, and washbasin.
