A traditional provençal 'Mas' in a stunning secluded setting with extensive grounds blending into the landscape.
This substantial stone 'Mas' is located 3km from Malaucène which offers all shops and services, restaurants and cafés, tennis courts and bike hire. Malaucène sits at the foot of Mont Ventoux; it dates back to the 10th century and has medieval, Gallic and Roman structures. The Wednesday morning market is a must-see with its local merchants selling regional produce and handicraft.
A wide selection of shops and services, restaurants and sports activities (tennis courts, horse riding, bike hire) can be found in the pleasant Roman and medieval town of Vaison-la-Romaine (11km) where there is a good market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The larger shopping town of Orange, famous for its Roman amphitheatre, is 44km away and Carpentras 20km to the south. In the summer there are many outdoor fêtes in the local villages, and world-renowned festivals, notably in Avignon and Vaison-la-Romaine.
There are 9 and 18 hole golf courses in the Avignon area, all within 40km. Swimming and fishing are possible 2km away in the River Toulourenc canyon, and canoeing on the River Ouvèze at Mollans (15km). There is good winter skiing nearby on the beautiful quiet slopes of Mont Ventoux at the small resort of Mont Serein (20 minutes by car). Summer skiing on grass is also possible at the same resort.
