Enticingly close, it is reached by way of a short walk (300m) along the country road bordered by vineyards and offers all the delights of a Provençal village; the square with stone fountain, the café, boulangerie and restaurant.
The pool area has been positioned to the side of the house to fully appreciate this setting. Sheltered and enclosed by its stone wall, it is a delightful spot with splendid vistas across the vineyards to Villedieu. The tiled terrace around the pool offers plenty of space for sunbathing and the pool house provides shade when required. Villa des Baronnies itself has been decorated with care and charm using warm colours and solid furniture to create a comfortable and welcoming home. The main accommodation is to be found on the first floor, including a glassed veranda, conveniently situated off the kitchen, where you can enjoy the view to the village and beyond while enjoying a leisurely breakfast.
Villedieu is just one of many picturesque places to be found in this pretty corner of Provence, where vineyards jostle with olive groves and stone hamlets to create a landscape that is simply stunning. Take a leisurely stroll around villages such as Mirabel-aux-Baronnies (7km), Rasteau (9km) and Séguret (10km), or stop at one of the 'domaines' nearby to taste the local wine. The main town in the region, Vaison la Romaine, is 10km due south and here you will find an excellent choice of amenities and a bustling market every Tuesday morning. From here, follow the country lanes to Nyons (15km), a medieval fortified town and famous for its excellent olives.
