Description The province of Almeria is between the provinces of Murcia to the right and Granada to the left. In its region lies the Natural Resort (Parque Natural) area of Cabo de Gata. It's one of the sunniest places in Spain. Like all of Andaluca, Almeria or Al-meriya (the mirror of the sea) as it was first called in Arabic, was dominated by the Arabs. Almeria begs to be explored.This Costa is above all reputed for its plenty of idyllic natural attractions. It offers and endless range of outdoor sporting activities - everything from water sports to hiking, golf, horse riding and paragliding. Although Almeria's landscape is very rugged and has a shortage of fertile soil, it's an important growth area and is well known for producing top quality oranges and white grapes, most of which are exported from its port. Almeria is almost completely dependent on this industry. Hundreds of westerns, for example Lawrence of Arabia, have been produced in the local hillsides. Its barren desert-like landscape is perfect. Spend some time enjoying its winding streets, visiting its fine museums, and dining out on the local cuisine. You will want to return time and time again.
